It is unlawful to rent out a unit without first obtaining a Residential Rental License from the Town of Trappe.
Licenses expire on June 30th each year. Applications for renewal must be submitted by May 1st.
Rental inspections will be conducted every other year.
Owners of rentals built prior to 1978 are encouraged to contact MDE for information on lead paint registration requirements via telephone (1-800-776-2706) or web (www.mde.state.md.us/lead). Rental registration with the Town does not release property owners from compliance with lead paint law and other applicable regulations.
All active rental units, occupied and unoccupied, must be registered.
For assistance, please contact Cheyenne Foster - cfoster@trappemd.net.
