Section 415. Election of Town Council Members.

a. On the second Tuesday in May in every odd numbered year, the qualified voters of the Town of Trappe shall elect persons to fill the expired terms of members of the Town Council to serve a term of four years. The election of the members of the Town Council will be staggered in the manner set forth in this section.

b. On the second Tuesday in May of 1995, the qualified voters of the Town shall elect two persons to serve on the Town Council for a term of four years. In the next odd numbered year, the voters shall elect three persons to serve on the Town Council and, in the next odd numbered year thereafter, the voters shall elect two persons to serve on the Town Council thus establishing the practice of staggered elections.

Town Council Members are currently limited to two consecutive terms in office.

The next Town election will be on May 10, 2005, when three commissioners will be elected.
